Ellingham Mill

This is one of me favorite places to visit.

This mill belongs to my Aunt Margaret. She is a well known artist in England. The river runs right underneath her house! When I was little, I would go upstairs to her studio and sit on the porch. All I could hear were birds chirping and ducks quacking as I gazed down the river. I love going to her house and sitting in the garden which is rich in the scent of Lavender. I love rowing down the river in an old wooden boat and feeling the cool water against my hand. In the evening, my aunt Margaret would cook a spicy chicken curry and then have fresh raspberries and cream for dessert. Ellingham Mill is definitely my favorite place to visit.

Ecosystems and Food Chains

We recently have been looking at food webs and food chains and how they work in the transfer of energy.

1. Think of any animal. Name this animal and the habitat it lives or the ecosystem it lives in.
2. Name the food chain that this animal is a part of (name the producer, the first level consumer, the second level consumer, and the third level consumer in the chain)
3. Tell how the other organisms may be affected if your animal is removed. What may happen?
4. Why do you think animals and plants are becoming endangered?
5. What do you think we could do to help this problem?
